Visions of Santa dance in my head- Santas of days gone by.
I love the primitive look of the old German Santa candy containers. Their heart-warming appeal has inspired me to create this one-of-a-kind piece especially for The Humble Arts.

Yesterday’s Santa stands just over 23" tall. Although this Santa was inspired by the old German creations, he is unique in his design. Unlike the original containers, no molds were used. Everything is hand-sculpted. Also, unlike the original German Santas made of paper and cardboard, Yesterday’s Santa has been designed to last for generations. The candy container itself is made of wood. His boots are paper clay sculpted over wood; as is his head. His torso is a sturdy piece of hand-carved bass wood that is attached to the container lid. His hands are sculpted of paper clay and are firmly attached to posable arms. He is painted with acrylics, antiqued, and sealed.

Keeping with the primitive look of the antique containers, his clothing has been made from flannel and aged and stained with coffee and cinnamon. Santa’s beard is made of hand-washed mohair. His suit and hat are attached to his body to make removing him from and replacing him to the candy container base easier.
Santa’s solemn, yet soft, look will warm up any Christmas displays and will surely warm the hearts of your family and friends. Just as the Santas of old, he carries a small tree which is removable.
Yesterday’s Santa will come to you signed and dated from a smoke-free home. God has blessed me with a passion for creating that brings a smile to my heart, and my hope is that I can pass on that smile to you with the love that has gone into this piece.
